Privacy notice
Your data, handled
the way it should be.
This notice explains what personal information Clixoni collects through this website and the services we run, why we hold it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Clixoni builds and runs the online presence for small business owners: a professional website plus daily content, social posts, Google Business Profile management, backlink outreach and visitor engagement, all managed for you. Protecting the personal information you share with us, and the information visitors share through the sites we run, matters to how we work.

02Information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and provide our service. Depending on how you use this site, that can include:
- Details you give us through a form. When you book a call or send an enquiry, we collect your name, business name and phone number, along with anything else you choose to tell us.
- Details you give us by email or phone. If you contact us directly, we keep a record of that conversation so we can follow up properly.
- Information from the visitor engagement tools we run. On sites we manage, an on-page assistant may capture the messages a visitor sends and the contact details they provide so an enquiry can be answered and followed up.
- Technical and usage information. Like most websites, ours records limited technical data such as your device type, browser, approximate location from your IP address and the pages you view. This is handled through cookies and similar technology, described in the cookies section below.
We do not ask for special category data (such as health, or racial or ethnic origin) through this website, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
03How and why we use it
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal information. We rely on the following:
- Your consent. When you opt in to marketing messages, or agree to non-essential cookies, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time and we make that easy to do.
- Legitimate interests. To respond to an enquiry you send us, to run and secure this website, and to reach business owners who may benefit from our service, we rely on our legitimate interest in running and growing Clixoni, balanced against your rights.
- Performance of a contract. Once you become a client, we use your information to deliver the service you have signed up for and to manage our agreement with you.
- Legal obligation. We sometimes have to process information to meet our own legal and accounting duties.
We use the information we collect to reply to enquiries, book and prepare for calls, deliver and improve the managed service, keep the website working and secure, and send updates you have asked to receive.
04Cookies and the Privacy Centre
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website work and help us understand how it is being used. Some are essential for the site to function. Others are optional and are only used to measure and improve performance.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we only set non-essential cookies with your consent. When you first arrive, our Privacy Centre banner appears so you can accept, reject or choose which categories of cookie you allow.
Changing your choice. You can reopen the Privacy Centre at any time to update your cookie preferences, and you can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working as intended.
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep the site secure and remember your preferences, and optional analytics cookies, only where you allow them, to see which pages are useful so we can make the site better.
05Text messages and calls
Where you have given us your number and agreed to it, we may contact you by SMS or phone about your enquiry or the service you have asked about. This is governed by UK law, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the UK GDPR. We treat text messaging the same careful way we treat every other channel:
- Consent first. We only text numbers where the person has opted in. Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of buying anything from us, and we never use pre-ticked boxes.
- Frequency. Message frequency varies depending on your enquiry and the service.
- Rates. Message and network rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Opt out. You can stop marketing texts at any time by replying STOP. We will send one message to confirm and then no further marketing texts.
- Help. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details at the top of this notice.
We do not sell or share your details. We do not sell or share your mobile number or your messaging opt-in with any third party for their own marketing.
06Email marketing
If you ask to hear from us, or if you are an existing client and the message is about a similar service (the soft opt-in recognised under PECR), we may email you occasional updates. Every marketing email includes a clear way to unsubscribe, and we act on that straight away. You can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details above.
07How long we keep data
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Enquiry details are kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for the life of our agreement and for as long as we are legally required to hold them, for example for accounting and tax. When information is no longer needed, we delete it securely or make it anonymous.
08Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to run our service, and only with providers who are bound to protect it:
- Service providers. Trusted suppliers who help us deliver the service, such as the platform that hosts the websites and marketing tools we run, our email and messaging providers and our professional advisers. They act on our instructions under a contract.
- Legal and safety reasons. Where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.
We never pass your details to unrelated companies to use for their own marketing.
09International transfers
Some of the providers we use may store or process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by law, either because the country has UK adequacy status, or by using the UK approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses. If you would like more detail on a specific transfer, please ask.
10Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to:
- Access a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectify anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Erase your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing, which you can stop at any time.
- Port your information to another provider, where that applies.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we relied on it.
We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month.
11Contact and complaints
If you have a question, want to exercise a right, or are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put things right:
- hello@clixoni.com
- Phone
- +44 333 038 1701
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk or on their helpline. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern before you approach them.
12Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time as our service or the law changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of the page. Please check back occasionally so you are aware of any changes.
